Install it

In WordPress, go to Plugins, then Add New Plugin, then Upload Plugin.
Choose the zip you downloaded, press Install Now, then Activate.
Open wpShadow in the admin menu, pick a page and press Run all five checks.

The first run connects your site to Shadow Steward, which runs the checks. Nothing is sent before that. See exactly what is sent.

Requirements

WordPress 6.0 or newer (tested up to 7.1).
PHP 7.4 or newer.
A public https website. The checks run from the internet, so they cannot see a local or password-protected test site.
An administrator account. Only administrators can see and use wpShadow.

What is in it

Five free checks (titles and descriptions, broken links, page speed, accessibility, security), a WordPress site health check that runs inside your site and sends nothing, and two optional paid checks (a full SEO report and an image check with AI alt text) that appear only if you open "Want more? Add paid checks". Deleting the plugin tells Shadow Steward to forget your site and removes the plugin's settings.

WordPress site health: launch mistakes, updates and versions, database weight, accounts and exposure, and pictures without alt text, checked from inside your site. Nothing is sent and nothing is changed.

An earlier plugin with the same name was retired on 25 October 2026. This is a new plugin and a fresh start. It does not use the old plugin's settings or data.
